LOKKAI camera straps.

The simple things in life, when done well, are what brings me the most joy. Case in point: LOKKAI’s camera straps. How could something as ubiquitous as a camera strap go so long without being designed to look a little more aesthetically pleasing? I mean, really.

LOKKAI is a camera strap brand found by CHEMICAL BLDG BROS., the big brother who loves fashion and the young brother who loves camera. One pursues the ideal design and the other seeks the function of the strap. Even though there are many conflicts between the two, they’ll keep creating and producing camera straps.

As LOKKAI’s own description boasts, it’s the perfect balance between form and function. I love everything about this idea.

Check out (and purchase) LOKKAI camera straps from their website, and see the straps in action on Flickr.

PUMA Phone – PUMA x Sagem.

Apple iPhone what? Seriously, with the Nexus One out in the States (and hopefully coming soon to Canada?) and now this beauty of a phone, the PUMA Phone, who needs an iPhone?

Not only does the PUMA Phone look gorgeous, it also boasts an impressive integrated solar cell panel on the back for charging by the sun. And an even cooler feature is you collect points from charging by the sun, which can be spent in the PUMA store. Love this idea.

The screen is just so-so by today’s standards, at 2.8″ QVGA TFT capacitive touchscreen with 240 x 320 pixels, so tech-geeks will probably scoff at this phone. However, more sports-minded people will likely enjoy the “sporty side” of the phone — a set of PUMA’s sports equipment including a stopwatch, GPS run tracker, GPS bike speedo, pedometer, and yachting compass. As a jogger myself, I appreciate these phone features. There’s also a “playful side” that includes applications for social networking, icon messaging, and music.

While iPhone and Nexus One phones are probably more advanced and full of apps to download, the PUMA Phone definitely ranks among the most beautiful phones I’ve seen in a while. The PUMA Phone drops in Europe in the next couple of months, though a North American release is unlikely. (Us Canadians can dream though, can’t we?)

久しぶり〜.

My apologies for neglecting the blog for a few days. I suppose I didn’t mention that I was to go on an extended weekend getaway to the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Jasper, Alberta. Jasper’s a beautiful little town, no doubt, but to be honest, I was disappointed that the weather was actually not so different from Vancouver this winter. (Translation: No snow.) Still, I had a good time ice skating on a frozen Lake Beauvert, swimming in the Fairmont’s heated outdoor pool, and hiking around Jasper Park Lodge.

In other news: I want need this denim vest. Not much fashion-wise has caught my eye lately (which explains the lack of fashion-related updates), but I came across this guy’s denim vest and was very, very impressed. Love everything about it. Nice to finally come across new and inspiring streetwear!

Twelve South – “BookBook” Macbook case.

I’m totally digging Twelve South’s genius leather Macbook case, BookBook:

BookBook is a one-of-a-kind, hardback leather case designed exclusively for MacBook and MacBook Pro. Available in Classic Black or Vibrant Red, BookBook brings three levels of security to your prized Mac. First, the hardback cover and spine provide solid protection from the rigors of the road. Second, the vintage book design disguises MacBook for superior security. And third, the stylish case protects you from being like everyone else because BookBook is totally original, just like you.

Each leather case is only $79.99 US (and free shipping if you live in the continental US), which is definitely not bad considering some far uglier cases at far more expensive prices. Get it online at Twelve South’s website.

Opening Ceremony Fall 2010 Mens.

Opening Ceremony gave a preview of their Fall 2010 men’s collection on their blog recently. Some very nice, solid pieces in the collection.

Arriving in stores in early Fall 2010, the collection displayed here takes inspiration from the style and culture of modern France. Classic Breton sailor stripes, traditional French naval uniforms, European gypsies, 1968 student revolutionaries, and New Wave coolness influence the Fall/Winter first delivery offering.

Some more photos of pieces that I liked after the jump.
