The Lovely Bones.

Peter Jackson’s cinematic take on 2002 novel The Lovely Bones comes out this coming Friday.

Author Alice Sebold crafted the story of a teenage girl who is brutally raped and murdered, and watches over her grieving family and friends from heaven. Judging from the trailer, the movie looks like it’s half-part My So Called Life and half-part Rear Window.

The Lovely Bones stars Mark Wahlberg, Susan Sarandon and Rachel Weisz.

The film looks amazing. I can not wait to see this.

Astroboy.

The latest Astroboy feature trailer was released yesterday and by all indications, this movie is going to be fabulous. Astroboy features the voices of Freddie Highmore, Kristen Bell, Nathan Lane, Eugene Levy, Matt Lucas, Bill Nighy, and Donald Sutherland.

Astroboy drops on October 23rd. This fall is shaping up to be a good movie season.

Marvel Comics x Madhouse.

Marvel Entertainment Inc., has partnered with renowned Japanese animation studio Madhouse (Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers) and multiple-Eagle Award winner Warren Ellis to create four all new anime versions of classic Marvel Super Heroes. Get an exciting first glimpse of IRON MAN and WOLVERINE, two of the planned four series!

These Marvel Anime TV series are being created as a way of merging the beloved Marvel Super Heroes of western culture with the bold animation tradition of Japan. The resulting product will be four visually groundbreaking anime series featuring popular Super Heroes redesigned and repurposed as emerging from the fabric of Japanese culture. The series is expected to begin appearing on the Animax channel in Japan in spring of 2010.

The movie drops on September 25, 2009. Directed by Anne Fontaine and stars Audrey Tautou as Coco Chanel. And, really, who doesn’t love Audrey Tautou?
