Telephone – Lady Gaga x Beyonce x Tyrese.

Because even the biggest haters have to admit to being a little bit curious about the video.

Besides the crazy crazy crazy fashion, I’m digging the Quentin Tarantino references, for sure. Who wants to bet Gaga will be in one of Tarantino’s future movies?

Waving Goodbye to 2009.

It’s that time of year again. 2009 is on its final stretch, so that means 09 recap-a-thon.

Whirled Interactive, however, manages to do things a little differently by literally Waving (get it?! ha!) goodbye to 2009 using Google Wave. Nice use of current technology to show some of the year’s highs and lows. It’s even as current as the untimely death of Brittany Murphy.

I hope watching this video makes people want to use Google Wave more. It’s great having an account there, but it’s kind of pointless if nobody is using it or nobody knows how to use it.

Epic Misney – Marvel x Disney mashup.

Disney x Marvel mashup

With Disney’s acquisition of Marvel Entertainment Group earlier this year, we were all expecting an all-out war between Warner/DC Comics and the new Disney/Marvel Comics. Instead, T Campbell and John Waltrip envisioned a more in-house battle royale first, resulting in their epic mashup of Disney and Marvel.

The ultimate “Marvel/Disney” mashup, featuring over fifty characters rendered in loving detail by John Waltrip (from a rough blueprint by T Campbell).

11″x17″ prints are on sale for only $14.99 at T Campbell’s online store. May be a little late to get this shipped in time for Christmas, but I want to let you all know that I accept presents all year round. You know, just in case you were wondering.

Japanese Spiderman.

Uh, how did anybody manage to sleep on this? Take everything ridiculous we ever saw on Power Rangers and combine it with Spiderman, and… well, the video speaks for itself.

Seriously, though? Spiderman has a giant robot named Leopardon? WTF?!

(FYI, the Japanese Spiderman tv show, produced by Toei Company in 1978, actually popularized the use of giant fighting robots we all later saw on スーパー戦隊シリーズ, aka Power Rangers.)

The decade in 7 minutes.

In general, I love these quick cut, rapidly narrated videos that tell us about the past. I guess this one’s interesting too. Still, I’m a little disturbed that Britney and Madonna kissing on MTV got a mention while things like the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the SARS outbreak, and Google taking over the world weren’t mentioned.

A little too USA-centric (though, really, is that such a surprise?), but interesting nonetheless.
