Made of resin, cashew lacquer, cloth, and glass, this samurai armour was crafted by artist Tetsuya Noguchi as a tribute to French fashion house Chanel.
While I’m not sure how battle-ready this armour actually is, even Lagerfeld himself must be amused.
Who said luxury brands are suffering a quick but painful death in Tokyo? (Oh yeah, I did.)
Chanel is celebrating the 5th anniversary of their super duper, almost-unimaginable 10-story Ginza, Tokyo flagship store by showing off an exhibit featuring frock, gown and jewellery designs by Chanel’s own legendary Coco Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld.
The 5th anniversary exhibit is going on until December 27th only (apologies for the late notice). Better get in a quick peek before a) the exhibit ends, or b) the Chanel building in Ginza is taken over by another fast fashion retailer.
It’s a bright, sunny day in Vancouver (alas!), which is normally enough to make me feel better, but along came this Spongebob Squarepants x Karl Lagerfeld figurine to make things sweeter.
Spongebob was given a makeover by Lagerfeld for the World Wildlife Fund, and was sold at an auction in Paris for 1,000 Euro. Because, you know, when you’re filthy rich and bored, why not buy Spongebob Lagerfeld to help save animals?
Coco in Motion – Chanel x V Magazine x Stephen Smith.
In my never-ending quest to watch every stop-motion video ever created, here’s the latest one: Coco in Motion, directed by Stephen Smith for V Magazine issue #62.
All this stop-motion goodness is really hyping me up for Wes Anderson’s The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Why isn’t that movie out yet?
