Short film featuring retired soccer star Zinedine Zidane for Y-3’s spring/summer 2010 collection.
Y-3’s Spring/Summer 2010 campaign features world soccer star Zinedine Zidane alongside a cast of models all wearing a selection of Y-3’s collection inspired by the power of soccer and the movement of the net. Timed to the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup(tm), the campaign celebrates an icon of sports heritage: the team portrait. Filmed & edited by Theo Stanley, styled by Nicola Formichetti and art directed by Doug Lloyd of Lloyd & Co, the film was shot on location in a stark urban setting, with models representing the eight soccer federations sponsored by adidas: South Africa, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, France, and Russia.
Spring/Summer 2009 was the launch of adidas’ project, Originals by Originals, headed by Kazuki Kuraishi. The Fall/WInter 2009 collection continues the project with some amazing looking pieces and some collaborations with Japanese brands NEIGHBORHOOD and WHIZ.
I kind of want everything. Unfortunately for me, some of these coats don’t come cheap. The NEIGHBORHOOD/Originals KZK peacoat, for instance, sells for 76,650 yen.
Porter’s spin on Adidas’ Nizza Hi sneakers? Are you effing kidding me?
Now, I won’t even go into how huge Yoshida & Company’s Porter line is in Japan. I’ll also forgo the mention of Porter’s highly recognizable orange-lined Tanker series (I’ve already got my Tanker briefcase). I should also not mention my never-ending love and adoration of Adidas.
I think I know where I’m going first thing in the morning tomorrow.
Good Day (Adidas Originals Remix by DJ Fumiya) – RIP SLYME x Adidas.
Love these guys. RIP SLYME can do no wrong in my eyes. The PV might be a four minute long Adidas advertisement, but at least it’s well-presented and made me want to keep watching. If you’re going to be blatantly marketing something, you need to do it with some style.
Not new, but just wanted to report that my trip to Vegas was successful in that I managed to buy a pair of Y3 Honja Hi’s in white/navy blue for 50% off at the Y3 store.
Not the brown ones I dreamed of just a few weeks earlier, but these will definitely suffice.
