Merry Christmas.

Thank you, Channel 2, for saving Christmas yet again for fireplace-less apartment dwellers. Who else thinks Channel 2 needs to give up with the tv program listings and just turn into a 24/7 fireplace broadcasting network?

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Waving Goodbye to 2009.

It’s that time of year again. 2009 is on its final stretch, so that means 09 recap-a-thon.

Whirled Interactive, however, manages to do things a little differently by literally Waving (get it?! ha!) goodbye to 2009 using Google Wave. Nice use of current technology to show some of the year’s highs and lows. It’s even as current as the untimely death of Brittany Murphy.

I hope watching this video makes people want to use Google Wave more. It’s great having an account there, but it’s kind of pointless if nobody is using it or nobody knows how to use it.

Uniqlo Collection Tokyo 2009.

Uniqlo Tokyo Collection 2009

This one somehow slipped past me so I have no idea when Uniqlo launched this, but here’s another reason why consumer wallet-friendly Uniqlo manages to stay so successful in dire economic times: innovation.

This online virtual runway show for the Tokyo 2009 collection is brilliantly executed on Uniqlo’s website. At first, you’ll see models walking along the runway but you can click on any particular model to see what they’re wearing. This is amazing.

Amazing. Yes. Yes, it is. But for the record, I came up with a virtual runway idea about five years ago for a mock Sean John branding project in university. I mean, sure, my idea was a bit more unrealistic and involved life-sized, customizable holograms in retail stores, but the whole point was to get the runway experience to consumers at any time.

Astroboy.

The latest Astroboy feature trailer was released yesterday and by all indications, this movie is going to be fabulous. Astroboy features the voices of Freddie Highmore, Kristen Bell, Nathan Lane, Eugene Levy, Matt Lucas, Bill Nighy, and Donald Sutherland.

Astroboy drops on October 23rd. This fall is shaping up to be a good movie season.

Raf Simons for Fred Perry A/W 2009/2010

Photographed by Mari Sarai, Raf Simons’s collection for Fred Perry Autumn/Winter 2009/2010 is captured ingeniously. The black and white, grainy treatment is obviously very dramatic, but also makes the images a little chilling. Definitely an eye grabber.
