The four covers feature one of each the contributors and a double pager with all three. Great experience with this and I’ve never heard my work associated with the word DOPE so many times in my life. Having the time of my life. I’m glad my wife understands. Special thanks to AD Alex Haldi over at IDJ and the Sundance Kid aka Tim Townsend. Maybe more in the works with this project. Album due in March. I’ll be in touch.
The album drops on March 9th. Should be good. Bachalo’s album artwork is just icing on the cake.

If a stop-motion animated dinosaur family can’t explain what information architecture is, then I don’t know who can.
From 1984 to 1994, a perfect storm of people and circumstances changed the face of animation forever.
Waking Sleeping Beauty is no fairytale. It is a story of clashing egos, out of control budgets, escalating tensions… and one of the most extraordinary creative periods in animation history.
Director Don Hahn and producer Peter Schneider, key players at Walt Disney Studios Feature Animation department during the mid1980s, offer a behind-the-magic glimpse of the turbulent times the Animation Studio was going through and the staggering output of hits that followed over the next ten years. Artists polarized between the hungry young innovators and the old guard who refused to relinquish control, mounting tensions due to a string of box office flops, and warring studio heads create the backdrop for this fascinating story told with a unique and candid perspective from those that were there. Through interviews, internal memos, home movies, and a cast of characters featuring Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Roy Disney, alongside an amazing array of talented artists that includes Don Bluth, John Lasseter, and Tim Burton, Waking Sleeping Beauty shines a light on Disney Animations darkest hours, greatest joys and its improbable renaissance.
An Official Selection at the 2009 Telluride Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival and winner of the Audience Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival, Waking Sleeping Beauty is directed by Don Hahn, and produced by Peter Schneider and Don Hahn.
The movie’s official release is March 26, 2010. As someone who grew up during this period (84-94), I fondly recall the Disney films that came out in those ten years. I’m so excited to relive those moments and see the magic behind so many of my childhood memories.
Apple iPhone what? Seriously, with the Nexus One out in the States (and hopefully coming soon to Canada?) and now this beauty of a phone, the PUMA Phone, who needs an iPhone?
Not only does the PUMA Phone look gorgeous, it also boasts an impressive integrated solar cell panel on the back for charging by the sun. And an even cooler feature is you collect points from charging by the sun, which can be spent in the PUMA store. Love this idea.
The screen is just so-so by today’s standards, at 2.8″ QVGA TFT capacitive touchscreen with 240 x 320 pixels, so tech-geeks will probably scoff at this phone. However, more sports-minded people will likely enjoy the “sporty side” of the phone — a set of PUMA’s sports equipment including a stopwatch, GPS run tracker, GPS bike speedo, pedometer, and yachting compass. As a jogger myself, I appreciate these phone features. There’s also a “playful side” that includes applications for social networking, icon messaging, and music.
While iPhone and Nexus One phones are probably more advanced and full of apps to download, the PUMA Phone definitely ranks among the most beautiful phones I’ve seen in a while. The PUMA Phone drops in Europe in the next couple of months, though a North American release is unlikely. (Us Canadians can dream though, can’t we?)
My apologies for neglecting the blog for a few days. I suppose I didn’t mention that I was to go on an extended weekend getaway to the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Jasper, Alberta. Jasper’s a beautiful little town, no doubt, but to be honest, I was disappointed that the weather was actually not so different from Vancouver this winter. (Translation: No snow.) Still, I had a good time ice skating on a frozen Lake Beauvert, swimming in the Fairmont’s heated outdoor pool, and hiking around Jasper Park Lodge.
In other news: I want need this denim vest. Not much fashion-wise has caught my eye lately (which explains the lack of fashion-related updates), but I came across this guy’s denim vest and was very, very impressed. Love everything about it. Nice to finally come across new and inspiring streetwear!
